Several years ago, I had a burning desire to write a book called Remodelling.
It was to be a metaphor for life — tracking our natural evolutions alongside the biological remodelling of bone architecture, the focus of my scientific research at the time.
Bone adapts to the stimuli of its environment:
physical training, hormonal fluctuations, nutrient availability.
Every seven years, you are walking around with an entirely new skeleton.
At the ripe old age of 26, I felt my life had already undergone several remodels —
moments where I had evolved to overcome the perceived limitations of an environment or pursuit that no longer supported my flourishing.
At the time, I believed this required work —
a continuous discipline to reimagine a new way of being,
just as bones must maintain their structure
to hold us upright against gravity.
The book never appeared.
And now, I’m grateful for the lack of discipline behind my writer aspiration,
because there was a missing piece.
These “evolutions” of myself
were stories —
stories I lived inside
until something shifted.
My beliefs changed.
Unlike bones, which faithfully adapt over time,
our experience of life can change in a single moment.
Healing — psychological wellbeing —
does not move in straight lines or timelines.
It arrives quietly:
a sudden clarity,
a single insight —
so light it’s only one thought thick,
yet powerful enough to dissolve years of struggle.
Nothing needed fixing.
Nothing was ever broken.
Beneath the noise of thinking,
there has always been perfect health —
untouched, unbreakable, whole.
Insight is the quiet opening
that lifts us into a deeper understanding of life.
It isn’t something we manufacture with effort.
It arises when we soften, like a smile from your soul,
when we relax into what is already here, your own wisdom appears.
And with each insight,
I see more clearly
the thought-created nature of my experience.
This is freedom.
Because when I truly see
that my moment-to-moment reality is born from thought —
alive, shifting, creative —
I am no longer trapped
by circumstance or pattern.
Life becomes lighter.
It becomes play.
A living canvas.
Our bodies live through our imagined stories.
And it is through these stories
that you and I connect.
Bones in front of bones.
The only way you could ever feel insecure about sharing, my darling,
is if you take yourself too seriously.
So remember —
the “I” is yours to create.
Now.
In this moment.
Through love, we come home —
back inside.
And through living,
We share our light and imperfect humanity,
to the world.
